This piece didn’t come easy. Bringing the Chilly Safety Matchbox to life meant tracing its roots back to an original match factory tucked away in Kelantan. Reaching the factory owner was a journey in itself, conversations took time, patience, and care, especially as the craft is still kept alive by elderly artisans. Every detail of the concept had to be explained with respect to their way of working.

Produced by the original Kelantan Match Factory, each safety matchbox is handmade, carrying with it subtle variations that speak to its human touch, no two are exactly alike.
